Welcome

Hilingdon Musical Society (HMS) is a very active and friendly Musical Theatre Society, based in Hillingdon, West London and we welcome new members of all ages.

Since 1934 Hillingdon Musical Society (HMS) has been producing and performing high quality drama and musical theatre to audiences at the Beck, Compass and Winston Churchill theatres. With over 80 shows to our repertoire we have covered the full range from the "old classics" like Carousel and Show Boat, to more recent Broadway and West End Shows such as Witches of Eastwick, Fame and Our House.

Hillingdon Musical Society is now firmly established in the West of London amateur musical theatre scene; HMS has won awards, positive reviews from NODA and attracted talent of all ages from the wider Hillingdon community. HMS prides itself in being a friendly, inclusive society where all members of all ages are encouraged and given opportunity to perform, whether as beginners in the ensemble or those with experience, keen to take on more challenging roles. Singing, acting and dancing together is what makes our HMS family ‘tick’ and of course, builds great friendships. Some of our members have been here for over 30 years

We produce 2 shows a year (March and September), with auditions held in April and October. We rehearse every Tuesday evening 7.45 – 10pm at Hillingdon Park Baptist Church Hall, Hercies Road, Hillingdon. We also run a youth theatre project in the school summer holidays for 5 – 15 year olds, culminating in their own performance at the Winston Churchill Hall, Ruislip.

A strong crew of technical experts, including sound, lighting, set design and costumes, supports HMS. For those of you who prefer to work behind the scenes we are always keen to welcome new members in this area too.

I look forward to welcoming you to our company or to one of our shows some time very soon.
